"TK" was a 2 yr. old whitetail deer that had been rescued as a fawn but could not be released back into the wild after developing bladder stones that left him with permanent urethral blockage. A surgical procedure bypassing the blocked area allowed him to urinate through an opening in his abdomen. Also while under anesthesia his antlers were removed for the safety of his caretakers since bucks can become quite aggressive during the fall breeding season. The antlers grow back each year. Surgical site maintenance and antler removal has been performed for several years on TK.
